Thank You for your kind responses in the past. I'm available for the bluefish tournament and would be interested in hooking up with some other teammates. If you know anyone who needs an extra mate on the boat please let me know. I appreciate any of your suggestions. Thank you JoeDeltito 203-434-2997

We landed a few Blues that night, my buddy got more..., he was using 1 oz sinker, I got fewer with a 2 oz sinker. I received a poor Block report from 2 nights ago.., but that's not stopping us from going tonight and tomorrow night. Good Luck, tight lines, we need to post up a few big stripers to close out our quest for the cup and I cannot think of a better area to add to AIST success.

I saw a photo of the fish...nice....yep if the second place holds up (some times there are some pretty late entries - some bait shops very slow to send in thier slips) he will get a decent prize package...usualy you get to pick it up at striper fest....Thats great, I willhave to check but I think he might be the first to win something for us this year. The 40 lber pin he will get is really nice set of colors of all the pins. .

Kurt, if you want to prcatice vertical jigging then the north Rip is fun. You can certainly nail some monster blues in it. You can also 3 way there with eels. Other wise I would poke in along the East side of block on my way to the SW ledge. There are an awful lot of good spots before yo get to the ledge that most people pass by so if you can find fish there its alot less crowded. Good Luck!!!

Dont have any tips for you except keep slinging eels and they will come! Sometimes there in front of you, sometimes you must move to other spots.

sounds like its gonna be hard to drag you away from that pogy school. but if you decide that here's not a big cow or two mixed in and leave them, I would try drfitng eels off of rose and or Gould island. I think the larger bass are gradualy drfiting down to the lower bay and the edges of gould and Rose usualy hold some big bass for a while when that happens. the east 1/2 of newport brdige is good to me at night and other option is the bridge to the war college along the little tiney island (gull?) that is just N of the bridge and even with the war college. If I was gonna plug at night, the Reef/bar that comes off the N end of Rose is good in late june and early July at night. I am still smiling....never got a true 40 before so am enjoying it..G

To bad about missing the canal guy, The striper cup cost varies a bit, cheaper if you subscribe to "on the Water", and depends on if you want to be in both shore and boatd division.... I think the cheapest option is about 35$ and most is closer to 50$ you saw in my email they are making fishermen declare thier team prior to the start of the tourny this year. On the bright side leadfest is free with our dues (25$)....if you want to nmake jigs or snagging trebbles then just need to cover the costs of the hooks as someone had to go buy them....G
